When Should I Have A Facelift?

Rhytidectomy or known better as facelift procedure, is a popular surgical procedure among women. Women loves the idea of having face skin that looks youthful and facelift procedure can give it to them. The facelift procedure is doing the miracle by lifting up the facial skin and tissue and/or the underlying muscle. The procedure is resulted in tauter and smoother face. The reason why women need facelift is because as they age, the face skin lost its flexibility. Not to mention the gravity that makes the face skin drawn downward and forms wrinkles. The excessive exposure to the sun can also bring a damaging effect to the skin. A facelift procedure fix all the problems and makes women look younger. But when actually a woman can have a facelift? Is it when she feels like she needs it or is there a certain standard of age appropriateness?

Since facelift is basically a surgical procedure that is done by lifting up the sagged skin, then it is appropriate for women over 40 years of age. This is because in general, women under 40 years of age do not have problems with sagged skin and wrinkles. Most women who have facelift surgery are aged 50’s. However, there are also women in their 70’s and 80’s that undergo a facelift surgery and get successful results.
