Informing Divorce To Children

June 18th, 2010 by Admin

According to M. Gary Neuman, an expert on divorce in America, there are three things that need to be adhered to when you first tell the child’s parents are divorcing:

1. Mother and father together both to tell the kids. This is important to create a sense of togetherness as family routines will change.

2. Mother and father have 45 seconds the first time that children’s attention is not running anywhere, when I heard the words “Mom and Dad can no longer live together.”

There are three important words that need to be delivered to children in that short time

1. Mother and father have made a sad decision, so it seems to be better so mothers and fathers do not live together anymore.

2. Brother and sister will spend much time at my mother and father in each of our homes.

3. Mother and father split up, absolutely not one brother or sister.

4. Practice a variety of sentences that hit at the core but do not embitter your children.

Probably the first time get-togethers with the kids do not use the first word “divorce”, just say that the house would be two, namely the house mother and house father.

After the mother and father of three messages had been expressed, remains accompany your children and listen to what they feel, maybe they will cry or angry. Accompany them with a hug and answer all questions the kids.
